How do you-all feel the value of an original 1956 BBW F100 (like mine) is affected ?

No. There is no way other than looking at the weld seam on the inside of the cab to tell whether a cab is an original BBW or a conversion. That said, a poor installation of the conversion may give it away as well....

I have heard that BBW's were only made in San Jose. Does anyone have one known to be legit made anywhere else? Thanks for any help.

I like the big window alot and gave it thought for my 56 but changed my mind when the two of my friends in my club who have them that here in the San Joaquin valley the sun on your neck is very unforgiving. If you are in a hot climate area might want to think about tinting the window.
