Where to begin...

Well I’m finally going to get around to a few preventive maintenance items and would like to get a general idea of the order these should be done. My list of things to do next month are:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
1. Flush and fill radiator with CAT ELC<o></o>
2. Change out water pump and Thermostat<o></o>
3. Replace upper and lower radiator hoses<o></o>
4. Flush Power Steering with Mobil 1 ATF<o></o>
5. Change serpentine belt<o></o>
6. FRx Mod<o></o>
7. Install 6.0 cooler<o></o>
8. Replace HPOP Lines<o></o>
<o></o>
As I need to remove my air box and a few other items just to reach my power steering reservoir because I have a ZENA welder in the way, can all of this be done in one massive tear down or should they be done individually one at a time. I know some of these items from reading other posts need air to be worked out of the system but would all of this be a cluster. I had planned on two days of fun in the driveway but I’m not sure. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.<o></o>

Well 1,2,3,and 5 should be done all at the same time sense you are going to be in there. The rest can be done one at a time.

^^^^^^^ x2 but when you change the upper rad hose get the one for duel alternators, it goes around the serpintine belt rather then through it. I would add a external coolant filter also while you have the coolant out. I would add HPx mod to the list and a trans flush when you install the 6.0 cooler. And while your at it add an external trans filter either a magnfine or a dieselsite kit. All cheap insurance IMO.

Thank you for the feedback

Deluxe06 – I had been looking at a similar order so I was interested in how much of these items could be done at one time. I think I will start with the top of the engine and work down that way I can keep it relatively clean.

robbragiel – I need to keep some of the mods under control as California does not like certain modifications. Unfortunately I am unable to utilize a hose that goes around the belt as my ZENA welder sits above and to the right of my original alternator and it has its own belt as well so the hose must go through the main belt. I have also thought about extra filters so I will need to plan on where I might put them. I just added a new Mag Hytec tranny pan and changed all my fluid about 2 months ago so I should be good as far as fluid is concerned although I do have at least 20 more quarts in the garage that I could do another drain and fill if needed.

timmyboy76 – These welders are great and I seem to use mine more for cutting steel than putting it back together. I also have a set of jumper cables that connects into the line so I don’t need to hook up to my battery when jumping another vehicle. This thing will charge a dead battery in minutes and I can also plug a power converter into it and run power for any power tool.
