3 on the tree shifting problems
1960 F100, 3 on tree, 223. The shifter will only go into 2nd and neutral. It quit working normally just a couple of days ago. In searching on this forum for a solution, it seems the problem may be bushings and washers locking up the movements. Does anyone know where that I can find these parts? The vendors that I normally use don’t seem to have them.
Thanks,

Wonderful, but the OP has a 1960 F100. This is the wrong kit, as it's for 1961/64 F100/250 2WD
This kit is correct:
B7AZ-7343-A .. 3 Speed Gear Shift Lever Arm Insulator & Bushing Kit / Obsolete
1957/60 F100/350; 1961/64 F100/250 4WD; 1963/64 F350 // 1957/58 Ford Passenger Cars (not Birds).
NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.
FRED GRANDE FORD in Casco MI has 1 = 586-749-3141.
KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has 1 = 563-562-3241.
NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 4 = 972-937-2201.
OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 7 = 229-686-5101.
MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has 16 = 607-722-5371.

That hanging up problem is an old one. I have to shift mine in a particular way or it will not go from one shifting lever to the other. The thrust washers, I think they may be called in the assembly that is mounted on the steering column tube also cause trouble when worn .I have yet to find a source for those little buggers. When I shift out of first and head to second, I have to take the lever almost up to reverse and then go to second to have it not get bound up. This is with new bushings and insulators on the selector arms. Kind of part of it's personality.
