Ford Part Number for Pinion Seal and Rear Axle Seals

Can anyone help me with the Motorcraft part numbers (BRS) for the differential pinion seal and the rear axle seals? 2002 F-350 DRW Lariat CC. I really appreciate it.

Do I really tighten pinion nut back to 450-500lbs. Then I better replace the nut to?

Yes, you do. I have done several. We used a 4:1 torque multiplier and reused the nut with some Loctite on the threads.

Thank you for replying. With the DRW I do have a Dana 80 with 11.25 RG correct? Do you know the Motorcraft part number. I found the rear axle seals are BRS-12, but I can't find the pinion seal Motorcraft number. Thank you. What is a torque multiplier?

I looked up torque multiplier. Pretty neat. At 4:1 to achieve 500lbs you set you torque wrench to 125lbs and the TM does the rest.

Found out that I have a Dana 286 Locking Axle 11.25 Ring Gear-Full Float. Pinion Seal part number has been changed several times and currently is:

5C324676AA

Axle Seals are:

BRS-12

Just in case it can help anyone.

I am not sure but by looking at this and the part #'s it is the same as a standard Dana80. http://www2.dana.com/pdf/AXIP-0076.PDF I take that back the ring and pinion gear are different.
Hopefully someone who knows more will weigh in on this.

Thanks. I found the Ford pinion seal part number was 5C3Z4676AA. When installed it leaked. Then I got a Dana pinion seal part number 46411. No leak.

Then I found my bill of material number on my rear axle and went to http://www2.dana.com/pdf/X510-2.PDF. I went down to the bottom and found Ford 80/286 and looked for my vehicle then matched the bill of material number. Here I found for sure that the spindle nut is reversed on the drivers side shaft assembly. This is an easy way to find out.

I also found out if you are having vibration problems in your driveline after you are sure your carrier bearing and u-joints are good and the shaft is not dented or unbalanced. Replace the rear driveshaft tube that has that harmonic damperer on it. It is a hidden problem when the rubber gets old.

Now that you bring up vibration problems in your driveline. I have that problem and I am going to start by replacing the u joints and carrier bearing and am looking into having it balanced. But as I looked at the rubber damper on driveshaft I had wondered if that was the issue. Because all my ujoint didn't seem to be that bad but they have 205k on them. I would think that if I have it balanced they would be able to tell if the damper was bad. Here is who I was going to use they have done some work for me in the past. They also have some great info on their site and they sell Spicer ujoints. Action Machine Inc - Driveshaft Repair Experts: Worn parts, Vibration Analysis, Shorten, Lenghten.
