I am currently attending Oregon State for Manufacturing Engineering, I enjoy fabrication and snowmobiling. I grew up in Central Oregon from a very Ford oriented family.
I just recently started trying to get involved with FTE. I own a Blue 1996 F-150 super cab with a 302 and the Mazda 5-speed transmission. The reason I want to get involved with this forum is because how much I love Ford trucks and the great wealth of information I've found on this forum.
hey i have posted in a couple places. I live in bend and at the moment am driving a 4x4 ford quadravan. Its an ongoing project but it keeps me busy. I love any 70's ford especially. My dad had a mint 77 highboy when I was growing up. He got it new off the line. that was my first encounter. Since then I have been chasing down fords, so far I have had a 76 highboy, a 78 2wd f250 a 79 bronco 86 bronco 86 f250 diesel 88 crewcab,79 4x4 van and someday hope to inherit my uncles mint 69 ford 4x4 longbed.
i run a shop that sells construction supplys and pretty much am a family man. My 7 year old helped me install my edelbrock carb on the van last weekend. I just recently found this site and have been addicted since. The tech knowledge on here is priceless. If you guys need anything in bend hit me up. I love tracking down parts.

Hi guys. Name is Doug and I live in Mulino. That's about 10 miles or so south of Oregon City. Been married to Sandi for....hmmmm....let me think......28 years this May. Have 2 kids, grown and outta the house now, so it's just me and the Mama.
I'm a long haul trucker by trade, they call me a portable parking lot. I haul private vehicles cross country, mainly the southern part of the US so get to see a lot of country zip by me.
Have 2 2000 super duty's. Bought the first 2000 in '99. F250 5.4 Tritan EC SB. It's been a great truck but not enough for the camper. So found me another 2000 earlier this month. Kind of went back and forth on it as I wasn't sure I wanted one that old. It's a F350 CC SB dually LE with the 7.3. The engine and the duals are really what sold me on it. Have been wanting a diesel for a long time and I chewed down the price until I felt I got a pretty good deal. Hoping I made a good choice.
This looks like a great place to spend some time and sit a spell. I'm sure to learn a lot.

Welcome!
Wish I would've known about you sooner! The wife and I recently moved back from the east coast and had to have my 67 Galaxy shipped out here. What a hassle!
Welcome to everyone else as well! Looks like a lot of people are congregating around Corvallis...

Hi Derek, understand the hassle part. I know it can be a tough experience for my customers to ship vehicles, especially older, 'well loved' ones. I try to make it easier on them by keeping them updated on where I'm at and when to expect me. Being a car/truck guy I treat their cars as I would my own. Hope you got her home safe and sound.
It can be a serious hassle for me too. Some customers want me to drive right to their home in a sub-division with a cul-de-sac and drop the car. I don't think they realize exactly what is transporting their rig. I'm usually near gvw at 80,000 lbs, almost 80 ft long with my trailer sitting about 4" off the ground and my height is pushing 14'. I usually ask to meet me in a big parking lot somewhere and most people don't mind.
And the trees......lets not talk about the trees.....I have nightmares about trees.......
I've been cross country several times in everything from a bike to near Semi size and I know what a hassle hauling can be. I definitely cut drivers some slack knowing the kinds of things you can encounter out there. Never mind the road, there sure are some crazies out there.
Are you independent or you with a company?
I eventually went with a company called DAS. Pretty good service. Had it shipped from Fayetteville, NC to Portland. They wanted an extra couple hundred bucks to deliver it down here. They treated her pretty good. It was in top shape and called me the second it landed.
