Question 2008 F250 Grill defect

my grill "chrome" is rippling and coming off. Just this weekend i saw another 2008 F250 with the same problem. does anyone else have this problem? Is Ford doing anything about it?

I have an 08 with 57k on the clock. I just went out and looked it over and it looks ok. I don't see any signs of rippling or peeling anywhere and I'm up in NH with poor to terrible road conditions during the winter months. I'll keep an eye on it though.

If the trucks out of warranty then there won;t be much you can do besides have it rechromed, replaced, or aftermarket.

Never saw any indications of that on my '08 before I traded it in. Had 62,000+ on it at the time.

I just noticed mine is doing the same in one spot. Like a blister that has not popped. My 2008 F-250 has 43K on it. Just today I am looking at my Premium ESP to see if it is covered, there is a long list, but I am thinking this is not.

My truck has 96k miles. There are 2 spots on mine where the chrome is blistered. Looks like it took a rock hit in those places. I'll probably replace it soon. I wonder if putting on the clear 3M protective coating will help.

The grill on my 06 is doing it as well. No peeling yet but the majority of it is rippled. Started doing it the winter of 2010. When I have the time I'm planning on stripping the Chrome off and painting it.

this started as a couple of spots a year ago. now it is spread all over the grill. I was hoping that if it is a widespread problem maybe Ford will do something about it. maybe no one has even reported it yet?
Anyone know of a good aftermarket grill solution?

Mine isn't showing any signs as of yet with 76k miles. If/when it does, I'll spray it, the bumpers and the step bars with rattle can bedliner paint from Rustoleum.

Uh...y'all take a look at the date this thread was last posted on. It's over a year and a half old. Not that it's not valid or anything, but just something to keep in mind.
