My 97 crewcab Short bed weighs 7200 w one tank of fuel in it and nothing else.
And a supercab Long bed is 3" longer than my truck.
thats is why I said 7000-7200

 

i just put my truck on the scale last sat. 5250 with me in it, 1 full tank, 1 half tank, 33's, and a winch bumper. my guess would be 63-6500 for the diesel/ext cab.

 

You have a light truck. My buddies 97 F250 5.8 4wd 5spd reg cab has to be stripped to make 6000 for the pulls. In 92 the frames got thicker

 

i weighed it once before and it was ~4900 . . . i thought it had to be a scale that wasnt calibrated. that was with the 302, the mazda trans, and full tanks. once i weighed it again on sat with the new setup i began suspecting somethin like what you said. i wasnt aware they beefed up the frames. an additional 1k or more seems like a lot. . .i guess that explains my massive articulation ability from rubber frame.

 

hey does it have a lighted exterior cab visor on it too. i would like one if its got it. cant seem to find a reasloble priced one that somebody will ship. i would offer to part out on here and cl for a month or too and then sell the rest. would be better to sell to a slavge yard. im sure there are people looking for parts on that truck that your not going to use and make more money.

I would kill for that to be my first truck if it was in any kinda shape at all. Of course, having money makes buying a vehicle a whole lot easier.
