truck build thread location

so I have a question. I want to start a build thread, but where should I put it? should I put it in the 73-79 Ford Trucks area, or the Oregon Chapter area? or perhaps somewhere else?

Basically, I am gonna turn this:

into something like this

or this! (thank you V10Crew for the inspiration)

not sure on the color choices yet...

and of course, I am replacing this:

with THIS!

a 7.3IDI, mated to a ZF-5 (not pictured)

I'm pretty excited about the build, and I have already started yesterday. i pulled the first part off! (the door panel, hahaha)

so, where should I go?

Also, anyone have any luck finding an EVTM for a 90-92 F250/350 Diesel? I need the pinout for the firewall bulkhead plug, and I looked on Helm and that issue is no longer available...

thanks, all!

I did my build tread her in the Oregon chapter, look at the treat on the "Booger". All the parts came from here, so I did it here.

I usually do my build threads in the 94.5-97 Powerstroke forum AND in the Oregon Chapter.

Gives everyone who cares a chance to look at it and it's easy to copy and paste it into the other thread.

That looks like an awesome project. I just got done cutting up a '87 F350 a couple months ago, sold the 6.9 IDI and ZF5 out of it. I wish I could have kept it and used it in a different project, but I needed money for my '95 to finish my 4x4 conversion!

well this is probably as good a place as any. stay local, and all that jazz! Thanks, Bertha...good words.

yea, I really wanted to do a "Cummins Swap" like everyone else is doing...but that sentence right there made me want to do something a bit different. That, and the IDI kinda "fell in my lap" so to speak.

its going to be a fun project for sure.

The IDI is a great motor... not the biggest on power, but very reliable and easy to work on.

yea They're great engines...Just what I need. I needed something that would tow a trailer and still get decent mileage. we use my truck primarily for heading to the dunes with my fifth wheel toy hauler, and the occasional hauling stuff. I am not going show quality, but I am doing a nice clean build, with lots of tough stuff (lockers, airbags, Dana 70 rear, D60 front, winch, traction bars, etc.) who says a work truck can't look nice!??!

I have a friend who has the same truck as the engine came out of (92 F350) and he hauls his huge Lance Camper, and a 20ft enclosed trailer, and still gets 16 mpgs with 35's. he was a bit slow on the hills, but we put a Used ATS wastegated turbo on it last summer, and it was like a whole different truck. He can now pass me and my 460 on a grade. good thing his trailer is already Black! we have yet to see what mileage he is getting after the turbo...its only been on one trip since then.

In fact, he is parking his truck at my place for a visual reference as I put mine together. (course, I can't guarantee his turbo will still be there when he comes to get it again heeheehee... )

so, I will get it going, and then later on I can start "tweaking"

I will get my build thread up and going today sometime.
