STC Fitting Replacement

I just paid $1,200 for that job, but it included dummy plugs and standpipes. Which requires removing both valve covers and I would guess it adds more than double the labor. So if you can get the STC fitting only for <$400, that's a good price. Does that include diagnosis and a guarantee that this will fix it? Or is that just replacing the fitting at your command?

The two quotes below from m-chan and cheezit say it all. I've used that shop and I'm sorry to say I can't recommend it. I'd try Mass Diesel in Bellingham MA. Ben may be a decent enough guy with a nice website, but I don't think he knows the 6.0 enough. That's about as much as I care to say really on a public forum. You can pm me if you like and I'll leave it at that.

Snuggly, you read me wrong...I meant I wouldn't tackle the job myself if somebody else would do it for less than $400.
But I've already reconsidered...something is wrong here...it's just too cheap...how do you pull a turbo, and all the related accessories, pull the ipr, the hpop cover, pull the pump, line the stc fitting up, and get everything back together without an exhaust leak for $385?
If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Maybe I'm just used to being screwed because I'm Canadian and we pay double.

Do u have HPO issue,do u know STC is the issue? I just went thru all off this. That is a unreal deal but what if it's not STC? Will he charge u labor all over again to search for real issue? Faulty STC is only 1 of issue associated w/ HPO leak,as I said, just went thru all this on my 6.0 and it ended being the IPR.
