what size rim was stock on 77 highboy? hekp!

The truck came with 16inch bent rims not stock. Bought set off 83 f250 that fit except shop says that they rub on brake caliper bolt and spacers won't fit on studs. And guy says that they shouldve been 16.5 rims not 16 that would be stock ...it's not written on door of truck or my chiltons book. So guy at shop is trying to find flat allen bolt so stock rims off the 83 will work... Needless to say...I am female and only beginning to learn what all thisthe means and dont trust this shop! HELP!

16.5 is stock but I would run 17's to be safe.

Also it is getting hard to find tires for 16.5's.

What alteration would be necessary for 17 to work?

17" tires. look for 8x6.5 bolt pattern rims (the superdutys will not work) Ford, Dodge, and Chevy all ran 8x6.5 for a long time.

if you have a small lift, you can find 37" tall tires for 16.5" rims really easy.

sounds like your shop doesn't know it's *** from a hole in the ground

here are some spacers that will work if you don't want new rims and tires

They came factory equipped with either 16.5's or 16's

Thanks guys! Its getting clearer....like to keep the stock Ford rims since rest of truck is original (except the 429)...so will go show them spacer info and see if that works first.
