battery terminal on firewall?

Just finished putting battery cables out of an 08 super duty that was rolled into my 79 ford cummins. My question is... On the passenger side of the 08, there are a positive and a negative cable running up to an insulated terminal on the firewall within the enigine bay, what is this intended for? Trying to figure out whether or not I want to install it. Thanks allot for any info.

No picture now, didn't think this was an option. Do all 6.4s not have this? I will try to get a pic tomorrow.
