About AutoLite Jet sizing..

Hi there..I am working on a newly acquired "83 F150 351W that originally had on it the feedback 2150a. Ir was long ago removed and in it's place the po had another carb installed that is a mismatch of parts and it's not running well. I have in my possession a late 2100 D2 1.21 Venturi I think I want to put together for this motor. I can't seem to locate a recommended base sea level jet size for this combo. I will operate it on the left coast and average altitude will be about 1500-3500' roughly. Any input would be appreciated..

I also have a great 1.08 Venturi early sixties core as well..(one that takes the Holley jets),,Any thoughts about me jetting this 1.08 for this 351W?...

thanks all

It is my understanding that Ford broke altitude down to 0-5000' and then above. So you would fit their standard jetting based on application. For example my 289/auto has a 1.08 2100 with 49 jets. I have a 390/auto 1.23 2100, in the garage with 55 jets.

I really appreciate the input. I had in my mind about 54's or so for this 1.21. It sound like this 1.21 is what i need to use. I have to decide 2marrow and since these are special order..I will use a couple smaller sizes I already have and just drill them to spec. Again thanks for getting back. I have come to appreciate these 2100's and have enjoyed the in's and outs of these early Ford carbs...

(on edit)..On second thought maybe i should first drill it "52" and then have room for tuning on the same jet...at least it gives a starting point..

Again thanks..

good morning..

Well when I said "special order"..I meant I couldn't go to the local box store and get them.. I've ordered from that source before..but I need these today to stay on track to get this project out of my carport. I appreciate the input though..and I think that link is a great source for carb stuff..especially if you want to get extras of "this" or "that" and don't want a whole kit. I actually priced out the jets from him but I've got a couple of "odd" single jets that I can drill out today once the local tool supply store opens up..they have the individual wire size bits I need for $2.46 each....a lot cheaper and quicker since I need them TODAY..
Thanks for chiming in though..I hope all is well in your world today...I'll probably will look for a manual choke version of this 1.21 or a 1.14 for this F150 in the long run, I have a manual choke 1.02 with the brackets..for another project I'm working on..(at least the "pre" 64 carbs use the Holley jets that I CAN get locally)...again..

I have ordered form this source before as well..

have a neat day...

I you hear of a reasonable core in a manual choke early 2100 or even parts (the cable-clamp setup, or even just fuel bowl) let me know..I like these carbs...
