F1 Bakflip or Rollbak G2

Well after working 2 extra days of overtime I am going to get my bed cover now and was curious as to what you guys thought about the difference between the two were. Main reason is for protection of my new Trailersaver hitch I am going to get after a few more days of overtime. Thanks for any info you guys can shed on this. Plan on going to get it from where they are made. Looks like they are in Conroe tx by the looks of the website. Wonder if they offer any discounts for us?

I had a Rollbak Gen 1 on my last truck and it gave fairly good service. I have a Retrax on this truck and it is much nicer but more expensive also.

I have a Tonno Pro tri-fold cover. Got it off ebay for $137 w/ free shipping. It keeps the bed dry, which is all I wanted one for.

I have a BakFlip HD.
Zero problems.

Folds up and out of the way for towing the 5th wheel and then closes up nicely to cover the hitch when it is not being used.

I have a G2 on my 2011 350 LB and am very happy. I have not seen any moisture in the bed. Seems to be holding up well, have had it since last July. Very easy to operate, even a caveman can do it, or a 50 year old.

_____for additional info there was another post on or about 2/2/12_____________

I just got a Bakflip F1 the other day. Installation was very easy and it fits well. I had my 12yo son help me do most of the 'installation' within 20minutes . It seems pretty easy to break in if someone really wanted to...

I think the only diff between the Bakflip G2 and F1 is the outermost skin is aluminum vs fiberglass. I got the F1 thinking that it'll dent less easily if something landed on it, and it supposedly stays cooler inside the box.

I have a BakFlip G and am having a problem that I can't seem to get fixed: when running down the road, the 2nd panel away from the cab lifts up about 1/2 inch due to air pressure. I called BakFlip and they sent shims, but the dealer who installed it nor I can figure out how shims could stop this from occurring. The cover lifts where the 2nd panel away from the cab attached to the next panel - one closest to the cab - and it has the hinged piece that allows it to fold over on itself. The amount of inherent play allows the cover to lift at highway speeds. Those of you with these have a backseat passenger watch when you are driving at 65-75 - you can't see if from the drivers seat. This is a real problem for me as it will allow water to get in during a heavy rain.

I have extang tri-fecta (after having extang black-max for 9 years on my previous truck) and have had no problems whatsoever, works great!

Well know this is going to sound funny but I ended up placing the order for a roll n lock. Something just kept telling me they were stronger and had more security to offer. Should be here tomorrow and hopefully installed tomorrow also.

Let us know how you like it. I have the Pace Edwards "Full Metal Jacket" and really like them. I have had one on each of my last 3 trucks and have had zero problems.
