Weights
I have been looking around at some 2011 f350 6.7l cc srw 4x4 because I would like to have the extra GVWR. I looked on the door sticker of one and am now a little confused. My truck is a 08 f250 6.4l cc 4x4. They are both the standard box.
GVWR FGAWR RGAWR
2008 10000 6000 6100
2011 11300 5600 6730
Why the lower FGAWR on the 2011?
Manufacture date is 3/11.
Am I missing something or are all 350's like this?

Just a guess here but perhaps the 6.7 motor is lighter than the 6.4. That's almost all the weight you have on the front axle. You don't say what you want to haul or tow but a person can go nuts chasing those numbers. You will surely get a lot of comments and disagreements about what they mean. If you're not a commerical truck hauling for hire they don't mean a whole lot and the one that means the least is the GCVWR (combined vehicle). You will also notice that the axle ratings are tire specific. Change the tires and change the rating, to a point of course.

hadn't thought about that. Don't plan to ever again be in snow. Is that an option you have to order, or do all the 08s (and none of the 11s) have it. More likely the former I guess?

It was an option on mine. I think it is still an option. I like simply because of the heavier rated springs. I don't plow a thing.

About as good as she can be at the moment. We were a little nervous on Saturday when they thought she may be having seizures, but after an EEG and MRI they aren't concerned anymore. She loses the ventilator tomorrow and hopefully home on Thursday or Friday!

So an F250 with the snow plow package has a higher GVWR than my F350 did without the snow plow package.
