Question Seat belt buckle trim?

I was wondering if all of our trucks had the plastic trim piece on the male end of the buckle? If so, how does it attach? I wanted to be sure before I go to the wrecking yard to get a set as mine does not have them. The plastic cover seen in this catalog is what I'm talking about.

I've never seen a Ford without that. All my Fords in my sig. has 'em, including my 2 past parts truck, a 1988 XL F150 and a 1990 XLT F150.

My 1990 F250 and '89 F150 are both budget model Customs...... and they have it.

Thank you. Do you know how they attach?

I don't want to lug a whole tool box around for a stupid trim piece. LOL

I need the plastic piece that goes around the female end that comes up between the bench and the seat back. I think the entire thing has to be replaced with new in order to fix it though.

Nobody knows how they're installed?

I assume they snap on?

They're either snaped on, or screwed in by the back.

I'll going out with my truck later, I'll take a look, and when I get back I'll let ya know how they attach.

I noticed my van doesn't have that trim, as the male end isn't adjustable, because both shoulder and lap belt retract. Is yours like that? Or does it only retract at the shoulder?

No, they don't all have that type of male end. I'll try to remember to snap a pic for you later.

Ha, you know your right, they don't all have it, i'm going through my interior pics of my trucks, my 1990 XLT F150 doesn't have anything on it. Now that I think of it, I don't think my Diesel F250 has it either. Can't remember, as I never really worn the seatbelt in it anyways. Nope, doesn't have 'em either. Found a pic.

Heres in my 1990 parts truck, you can see it up there.

It's all black plastic, while the ones with the color keyed cap, is metal.

I forgot to get a pic last night, but John's pic shows the same male buckle as mine (black plastic without any type of cover).

We're talking about a different part here.

EDIT:

Here's a decent pic of them that I just found on Google.

That's exactly what mine look like. I guess they never had a cover.

Thank you all, I really appreciate the help.

OK, I went to the wrecking yard and checked 40+ of our trucks and I found that the '87 and '88 models have the buckle with sliding bar, chrome sides and the plastic cover, whereas the '89-'96 models have the one piece, black coated metal buckle pictured above.

My '89 F150 has that trim cover.... BUT it was built in 09/88, so that could explain it.
