pull out rear portion of two piece drive shaft / cut a piece of 3/4 inch heater hose
so it will fit sideways into female front shaft / grease front shaft female spline and rear shaft male splines with MOTORCRAFT PTFE LUBRICANT (XG-8-A) FYI It is blue /
Very Important! Before you pull rear shaft out mark front and rear shaft so it will be reinstalled in same exact position / if it is not exactly the same will vibrate or cause damage / I used yellow paint indicating opposing arrows

The ford TSB repair using blue grease XG-8 did not last for me 2010 f150 extended cab two piece drive shaft.I give up on Ford.I used MERCURY MARINE GREASE with TEFLON (2-4-c ) part nbr 92-802863A .It worked for me.I pulled the rear drive shaft and packed the female slip yoke completely full with marine grease (front drive shaft) then coated male spline with grease (rear drive shaft).I then forced the rear shaft into the female slip yoke result grease flowing out but filling every nook and cranny. You will need a ford cv boot clamp $8.50 and CV boot clamp pliers $9.00 most auto parts stores. It worked for me,no more thump!I cleaned male and female spline with brake clean (no grease residue/must be perfectly clean).Be sure to let dry 10-15minutes to ensure completely dry so grease can adhere properly. This fix calmed my nerves down, and I am once again happy with the best truck made "FORD 150"

2014 slip yoke bump
Looks like whatever Ford thought it did to fix this hasn't worked. My Ford mechanic just finished lubing the slip yoke in my 2014 XLT long box with double shaft (after a year and a half of denying the problem existed). Seems to have fixed the bump and MAYBE the hesitation and shuddering in low torque scenarios. Interested to know the long term prognosis and what I'm up against in ongoing costs once the warranty is done.

I know this is old, but....
My 13 has this issue. At around 30K I asked the dealer to handle, said could not duplicate. Now at 40 k it is worse. Asked another dealer and was told $125, its an maintenance issue, not warranty nor a Ford TSB.
I called ford consumer line and they said up to what the dealer says, they dont get involved in tech stuff.
Took to a private mechanic and it is quiet now, no thump, at least for a while I guess!

Yes my 13 truck was under 3/36, dealer refused said it was a maintenance item. Called Ford and they said they go by what dealer says. Even gave TSB to service writer, he never responded back!
Mine is now back almost a year later, am contemplating doing it myself.
