Backup lights without a NSS?

Backup lights without a NSS?
I've got my '78 F100, with a 351W & C6 transmission...when I purchased it years ago, it didn't have a NSS, and it still doesn't, was curious if there is a way to hook up the backup lights to work when it is placed in Reverse? Originally (before my purchase) it had a manual transmission in it...when I purchased it, it had a 351M/400 with a C6, I eventually pulled that engine and trans out and replaced with the 351W & the C6 that was with the engine...the shifter is now in the floor (used the existing manual shifter spot)...so is it possible to have backup lights without the NSS? If so how would one go about hooking that up? Or would I be better off to mount lights under the bumper and just have them on a switch?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Even though you've moved the shifter to the floor, your C6 transmission would still have the shift linkage coming out the driver side of the case. If the transmission is later model enough, it should have the mounting holes for a reverse light switch around the shaft. If that's the case, you could just get a reverse light switch for a '78 and install it to the transmission.

You might ask this in the Econoline section then - but my guess would be that the reverse light switch is mounted on the gear selection shaft (they went there in '78 for trucks). If that's the case, then you can just get a switch for that year van, install it to your transmission, and wire it in accordingly (should be a simple job).
