It's that time....

I have decided it's time to retire my 2000 F-350 for a new 6.7 at some point this summer. Do you gentelmen have any dealers to recommend? Preferably west side of the detroit metro area. I have not been to one since the warrenty expired on current truck back in '04. I do all my own repairs and am a little out of the loop far as whos the best right now. I wouldn like to buy from the dealer I would bring it to for service for the extra goodwill that provides. Thanks guys!

I can not recommend a dealer, but i would recommend doing some reading on the problems that they are having with the 6.7.

I have also been looking at a new 6.7 to replace my early 99 7.3 PSD, but have not like what i have been reading.

I can send you the links that are from another forum if you like, just send me a PM.

I have been spending quite a bit of time in the 6.7 forums. I don't buy anything first year of production because you will always have a few teething issues. I've been talking to a few buddies outside of FTE and heard nothing but good things about the engine-one works in the towing industry and 6.7 trucks have been model "employees" and if problems are widespread he will also be towing them-which he was with the 6.4s-has yet to tow a 6.7. The other is actually a Ford employee working in there technical assistance call center which says the only repeat issue on the 6.7 they have had has been CONTAMINATED fuel. I am a dealer tech (not Ford unfortunetly) and we probably get one or two vehicles a month that get "food posioning" and just need fresh fuel. The only time I see Bosch common rail pumps get chewed up are the ones that get driven running poorly until they run no more or get "pond scum" from somewhere.

I have come to realize that no engine will ever duplicate the 7.3s reliability again due to ever increasing regulation and i'm ok with that. Sorry if I came on a little strong.....just a little tired of all the paranoid speculation in the 6.7 forums based off one regular FTE member and a few new members stirring the pot with alleged problems. I need a bigger truck-Its something I will just have to live with.

I would be interested in talking to you about your current truck when the time comes to replace it.

Shoot me a PM sometime.
