i just want to know, any coments [good and bad]about if there worth buying, if there running good or what. i want to know cause i want to get one in january.try to mention gas milage in there to, thanks in advance.

Buy it in a heart beat ,much better then the chevy suburban . The 3rd row power fold down seats is a good reason if nothing else. Sure it has the some of the problems you can read about in the other threads .( The AC one is not good ,however it seams like they are going to get it fixed ) But over all I think it is great, and would buy another one. Mine is 4x4 and so far it taken us off road in the sand to fishing spots with out any problems. I will tell you that we are on the 2nd transmission because of a defective case. Ford fixed it as fast as they could and we got to drive a new mustang GT and a new 07 expy while it was in the shop ( not rental cars but new ones off the lot with the plastic still covering the carpet.) the thing is Ford stepped up and took care of the problem with out a lot of hassle.

 

Love my 07 so far! Purchased in April and have logged 4500 miles so far. Very comfy ride, very strong and fast, huge upgrade from the explorer we traded on it. Ours is an XLT with just about every option available on the XLT (wife wanted the EB but doesn't like the gold lower and wheel well panels). Might get tires on it before snow season arrives, the 18" Pirelli's dont look real promising for snow...

 

is the trans problems worked out. if not do ya think it will be by january

 

love the 07 expedition, but sometimes the transmission shifts funny, there are a few tsb service bulletins out for the fix. Even after it was done, it still shifts funny from 1st to 2nd occasionally, maybe 25% of the time.

The only other problem i have had, is finding a replacement air filter. I have 7000 miles on my expedition, filter is filthy. I have tried aftermarket filters and non fit. I even went to oreillly auto parts and had them pull every 07 expedition filter, and none of them are made for the 07, so off to the stealership to pay $27 for a crappy paper filter. Unfortuanately the dealership is having problems stocking them as well. Guy in parts told me they are a hot item. They were out of stock, had to call around and find me one, actually two, so i wont be stuck in this same predicament any time soon. Maybe one day these aftermarket companies will get it straight. The new dry flow filters are very promising if they can make one that will fit our trucks.

 

I got to try the breaks out today , I had to lock them down at 60+ because of almost stopped traffic on the exit ramp. The expy stayed straight and only locked the tires up for a split second twice . it stopped with lots of room to spare. in a short distance

 

what kinda gas milage.

 

I get in the 16's all the time , in the city of Houston or fully loaded with 5 people and the back section packed full of gear going 70 + heading to the 3rd coast ( The Texas Riviera).
It appears that going about 60-65 it will get in the 17's . We have reformulated gas for air pollution reduction .That may be way I don't get the mileage that others say they are getting

 

I am in Houston as well and am getting about 16.5 around town and as much as 20 on road trips if I keep it at 65 (not too often). I have been getting between 17 and 18 for the last few weeks and 5000 miles driving 70 - 80, as I cross the state. It goes down close to the 17 make at 80 for the streches of I-10 and I-20 that have the limit that high in west Texas.

I am in Houston as well, I am getting anywhere from 12.5 - 15 in the city to 18 - 21 on the highway. If you stay below 70 you can get 20-21 on the highway, but if you have a heavy foot it will drop to 17-18. In the city it depends how much you push it, how much traffic etc. I am averaging about 14 in the city.

No real issues with mine. Just crossed 89k miles. Got a weird blower fan cutting off for a sec and back on and sometimes the power running boards act up, but haven't had any real issues. Guess need to go knock on wood now......

 

What the heck, I'll give an update. My 07 expedition was traded in a year ago on a 2011 subaru outback wagon. My wife was driving the expy daily, and the fuel mileage was killing her at 15-16mpg, the current subie gets 29-30 pretty consistently. The expy had a few issues in the time we owned it; a rear wheel bearing at 15k miles, both rear struts at 20k, and a front differential seal at 22k. One issue it still had at trade-in (64k on it when we traded it) was a rare abs/rsc/traction control issue where all the lights would come on on the dash completely randomly as she was driving. Sometimes it would be just for a few seconds, other times it was for a few hours. The Ford dealer was never able to duplicate it, and therefore never able to fix it. We miss it sometimes when trying to cram stuff in the back of the subie going to grandma's house, but for any real work we always took one of the super duties anyway, so the expy never really worked hard, it was more of a daily drive/family truckster. Overall it was a nice truck despite some of the issues, and I'd buy another if I needed a full size SUV again, but we just couldn't justify keeping it due to her lengthy commute and fuel prices where they are.
