How bout the holley economaster on my 78 351m? HELP if you have had one!

What do you guys think about the holley economaster. I need a new carb due to the butterfly is worn out. I am getting 4 to 6 mpg and thats just normal easy in town driving. How is the holley economaster. I found one for 250 shipped and it is brand new. I also found one for $245 shupped. Just tell me what you think about them and if this is a good price. Thank you all for your time.

edelbrock is the only way to go "set it and forget it" i gave up on hollys years ago due to their always needing to be reset thats why i have 2 or 3 sitting in my parts room that i will never use again and if you change out the intake to match the 600 cfm 4bbl you will have a good running engine

Sounds like you were just running too much fuel pressure.

Yes it is sucking air through the the throttle linkage. I guess thats not the butterfly but you know where the throttle goes into the carb. It has a tiny bit and i do mean a very very tiny bit of play there. I can spray b12 on the throttle right where it goes into the carb housing while it is running and it will idle up .

Well some people hate holleys and some love them. I think if you get one made on friday your screwed and if you get one made on monday then thats the same. Im not trying to take a $250 gamble and get a holley andit not run any better. Im getting about 4 to 6 mpg and have done everything. The problem im having is a small surge every now and then at idle and too when i go to turn in a road slowing down after i let off the gas and get back into it , if you just hit the gas it will die. If you feather it a tad it does fine. Its not that bad bud its not right eather and i want it right. It is running rich i can smell it and also it has that spitter sound in the exhaust. It is very hadr to explain but i know it cant be much. The truck is a tank in 4x4!!

I guess maybe i should just put a rebuilt motorcraft 2bbl back on it. I dont want to buy a intake right now so 2bbl is gonna have to suffice for the time being
ive asked before but has anybody got a carb through guaranteed carburetors online site?
$178 with gasket
