Bill, good info.
If my 15 X 5 wheels does clear the conversion brake calipers, can't I just move to a bigger wheel that was still a factory option in 1965, which you have stated in earlier threads are a one-piece 16 inch wheel and a one-piece 17.5 inch wheel?

I stand corrected
Ok, 1964 Galaxie is the correct match for a 1965 F100, not 1965 Galaxie sorry (although I'm pretty sure I searched 1965 Ford hubcaps and the hub caps I got were listed as 1965 Galaxie hub caps - but the owner could have just been wrong, like me )
Tin Man 52, can you provide a picture of your 16" hubcaps? I would be interested, because I'm thinking about moving to a bigger wheel (a 16" or a 17.5")

Will 16" and 17.5" (5 X 5.5) fit on 1965 F100?
Bill or others,
I currently have those 15" one-piece wheels for my nearly completed 1965 F100. Would both the 16" or the 17.5" wheels fits? I have read on this Forum somewhere that the 17.5" wheels only work on the 4 X 4 model, is that correct?
Also, is there any difference in the 15" and the 16" and the 17.5" other than just diameter?
Also, do the 15" hubcaps fit on 16" and 17.5" wheels, or are the hubcaps different to match the wheel?

Keep your eye on ebay I have seen them there from time to time and at a pretty reasonable price.

Yes.

No, but these wheels were only used with the 45" radius 4WD/F350 fenders.

The 15 or 16 or 17.5 wheels center section is different.
Also, do the 15" hubcaps fit on 16" and 17.5" wheels.
No.

C4AZ-1130-A .. 1964 Galaxie & 1965/66 F100 10 1/4" 'outie" Hubcap.
C4AZ: C decade = 1960's / 4 = 1964 / A = Galaxie/Custom/500 XL / Z = Ford part.

C5AZ-1130-A .. 1965 Galaxie/Custom/LTD 10 1/2" 'outie' Hubcap.
C5AZ: C decade = 1960's / 5 = 1965 / A = Galaxie/Custom/LTD/500 XL / Z = Ford part.
500XL's came with wheel covers, were optional on others. And, these same C5AZ hubcaps were also used on 1966 Galaxie/Custom/LTD's

17.5" question
Bill, you're right, you did answer my 17.5" question in post 5. Must have blown right past that.
I have a friend with two 17.5" inch wheels. What are they worth do you think?
Thanks for all your help. All these wheel/hub cap options where so confusing but I think I have a pretty good grasp on it now.

Just a couple more questions, I promise
Ok, I have a couple more questions that I don't think you have already answered (I'm thinking you'll let me know if you have.
What bolt pattern was on the 16" wheel that was used by Ford in 1965 for the F100?
Also, you stated that my 15" hub cap would not fit on a 16" wheel, so......
what factory hubcap fit on the factory 16" wheels?
Be gentle...........

Considering the very limited size availability of 17.5" tires for those wheels and the steep (in my book) price your friend may need to advertise them for quite some time to find those few buyers. Check out these prices: Tire Search Results

Same as 15" & 17.5" wheels.

Painted 16" outies that are almost impossible to find.
Be gentle...........
I freely admit to being a crabby (67 year) old grouch. When one types the same info 100's of times on FTE, one tends to become even more crabby!

5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle: 1940/47 Commmercial (1/2 ton truck) / 1940/48 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars / 1948/52 F1 / 1953/79 F100 / 1966/96 Bronco / 1969/74 E200 / 1975/96 F150 / 1975/2012 E100/150 / Some 1980/83 F100's.
I've prolly typed the wheel and hubcap applications for these old rolling piles of misery at least 500 times here on FTE.
One FTE member (dubhoff) went thru the trouble of posting pics in his gallery of every one of these puppies, I supplied the part numbers.
Do peeps use the search function to get this info? Of course not, so the same fracatta info has to be typed all over again when a shows up.
How many M5's, 2R5/7 thru 8R5/7 Studebaker trucks came with 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle? None that I'm aware of. Most, if not all of these wheels are 'outies.'

Are my Wheels Tube or Tubeless?
Bill,
I'm thinking about putting the Firestone 700-15 sold by Coker on my truck: Firestone Blackwall - 700-15
Newbie Question: Is it the wheels or the tires that determine whether you need a tube inside or not? I've read on this Forum about guys saying sometimes you have to use a tube with some of the factory rims/wheels?
Thanks.

The search function probably needs to be explained to Newbies
