looking at v10

good evening Iam looking at a 2005 e350 with the v10 and was wondering what kind of fuel mileage it will get around town i work in construction and drop off and pickup my kids from school it has 72000 miles and they want 13,900 for it.i was also looking at a 2006 e350 with the 5.4 for 7500 but it has 190000 miles on it that are all highway miles and they have all the matiance records on it and i was wondering if it was a good buy since these motors last a long time thanks for reading and any input.

Lots of owners claim 8-10 MPG.

I would get the V10 just on mileage alone....you could always get tuner/exhaust system /intake set-up to improve fuel economy...72 K is not even broken in

I have a 05 E350 V10
With Mike's Tunes I get 14.5 to 16 mpg at speed limits- unloaded.

Mike @ 5 Star is absolutely the rage in the V-10 forums. Besides his vast improvements customer service is beyond belief. In fact, to my knowledge there has not been one single dissatisfied customer so far. If they do exist they've not yet made themselves known.

I'm also considering or searching for a new-to-me V-10 extended body E250 or E350. My first addition would be a 5 Star tune without hesitation.

Let us know what you eventually find---I'll be following for good feedback from an actual user----best of luck!
