Hi'yall, before I got my 06 psd my 96 psd did it all for me without so much as a hiccup for 350,000 miles. Im tired (and broke) of throwin $$ at the 06 just for somthing else to need repairs a month later. I'm fixin the 96! Here is the info and things I tried so far, 3yrs ago it ran fine then it s l o w l y died on me. At first I'd be driving along and the motor would stall while still moving I would put it in neutral and it would fire right back up. Happened once every couple o days. Few months later on the first nite of my new job it started in the driveway fine I got about a 1/4 mile from the house and it died never to start again.While at Brigton Ford with the 06 I asked the tech what he thought about it and he responded fuel pressure regulator,also talked to another tech a month later and he said the same thing. before I got this info one of my "tech buddy's" had me put a new camshaft position sensor in which did nothing. It's a stock 96 f250 psd I'm draining the fuel tanks, new filters,and oil ,2 new battery's,and I'll be installing a new fuel pressure regulator, before I attempt any startups. Can any one think of anything else I should do first or has anyone had similiar issues? Sorry for the long read and thanks in advance to anyone that chimes in.

 

Get the codes checked first. Should be cheaper than all of that.
