All of the sudden my power steering pump whines all the time.
I've replaced the fluid and even added some Lucas, which I heard
was suppose to help.
Does this mean the pump is going bad or what ?
It really whines when I turn sharp but whines even setting still
at idle.
Any suggestions or information will be appreciated.

What fluid did you add? Not sure the Lucas will do anything for it.

Most likely it is going bad and you will need to replace it. It may also last for awhile too. Usually they don't last too long when screaming though.

 

Mine was whining for a few years and synthetic atf flush never helped me either. Finally I bit the bullet and replaced it. An easy job but you need a pulley puller to get it on and off.
