High pressure oil leak

Hi all,
My truck has a high pressure oil leak. Ford wants 200 more to tell where it is.
Fix it myself or ford?
Any roughs on cost?
Easy or hard to fix...depending?

Some guys here do it themselves. There are threads if you search, or I'm sure someone will be along with links.

I can tell you that to do it right, the HPO pump has to come out, and both valve covers have to come off. You tell me if that is a hard job. I don't have the kind of time this would take, so mine is in the shop right now for the same issue.

Ford quoted me "about" $2,500 to do the pump fitting and standpipes on both sides. They didn't get the job.

I am beside myself right now, I NEED this truck. I have zero faith in Ford Dealerships. The guy I originally brought it to couldn't figure it out, so he brought it to ford to diagnose (don't ask, I am trying to remain calm) This is going to put me under.

Does anyone on here know someone or want to do this job, I am in New Hampshire and will drive a good distance, out of state even, to have it done right. Let me know how much, I'll bring it out and sleep right in the truck if need be.

Take a look at this thread, in particular Bismic's post #50. This test is used to tell you if the STC fitting is leaking, or the left or right standpipes/dummy plugs is leaking. If you can't swing the whole job, maybe you can get by with finding the particular leak and just fixing that. IMO you would just be postponing repairs of leaks at the other points, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hey, it was bismic's info, so thank him first, and I thank him too.

Apparently the air test was over the head of the dealership tech who wanted to work on my truck. All I got was a $460 screwing and no solution. I beat feet out of there.
