Power steering pump differences?

Power steering pump differences?
in process of upgrading my manual steering on the '66 slick and have returned from another Pull-A-Part expedition. My question is...
between the "saginaw" and the "Bendix" power steering setups... is either one married to it's oem PS Pump? aka, if I have a power steering pump w/steel reservoir off of a '67 Bendix setup will it be compatible if I want to use a Saginaw steering box?
Thanks folks!

Two examples - one may not be particularly relevant, the other one might be. #1: I put a '91 Mustang 5.0 that came with power steering and air conditioning via serpentine belt into my '64 Falcon with early style power steering. The much later style plastic bodied pump on the engine hooked up to the older style system on the car with no issues. #2: I am currently doing a '66 F100 that started life with manual steering. Got my steel bodied P/S pump from a junk yard as a core and exchanged it for a similar rebuilt one from AutoZone. Also got a Ford/Saginaw P/S gearbox and hoses from AutoZone. (Don't forget to get the correct P/S Pitman arm if you are changing over.) Don't have more than "yard" miles on it yet as the rebuild is far from finished, but so far, so good. Hope this helps.

1965/77: The P/S pump has a steel reservoir. The P/S pressure hose threads onto the pump
1978: FoMoCo changed the P/S pump on everything (except Econolines, 1978/79 Passenger Cars w/Hydro-Boost). This new pump has a plastic reservoir, is smaller in diameter than the previous pumps.
The P/S pressure hose...on the pump end, has a straight tube with an O-ring on it. Attaches to the pump w/a qwik connect fitting.
Be aware that while some FTE peeps call it Saginaw P/S (because it was made by Saginaw), FoMoCo never referred to it as such. The correct term is Ford integral P/S.
Possible Saginaw confusion: 1972/79 Passenger Cars with hydro-boost, 1975/91 Econolines used Saginaw P/S pumps with Ford integral P/S.
BENDIX P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD, 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.
FORD integral P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001 / 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350 / 1976/79 F100/150 4WD.
1977 F250 4WD from serial number Y20,001 (not a High Boy) / 1978/79 F250 4WD / 1979 F350 4WD / 1980 and later...all.
