The big 6-71 or 8-71 blowers are a little on the big side for a 300!

Yea I believe the carbs on the black one are Weber IDA's. I use to have a brand new set of triple side draft Weber DCOE's for a 300 a few years back. But I never got to run them.

Being a little bit of a sleeper is cool. But I still prefer the nasty sounding lumpy cam! This vid is my favorite.

I love the sound of it too. Which kind of bums me out. I wanted to run a similar cam. But I have to run a different cam profile then that with the supercharger. I guess I'll just have to live with the blower whine instead.

I've got too many vehicles the way it is!! I really don't need more projects.

I'm so broke that supercharged engine will probably take me 5 years if not longer to get built.

i ain't broke , but in these times it's so hard to convince myself to let go of the cash , and in the case of the engines i have available , 3 flatheads , a y block , and a 4.6 , i seem to have chosen the most expensive starting points ford has in the case of prices . i still cant get that 68 you posted outta my head ...

Hey I dumped a good running 400 and then a strong running modified 351W to run a big 6 in my 54!!

I'm also considering building a 240 instead of the 300! That would be even more embarrassing for the poor sap with a V8. Not only did he get whooped by a inline 6 but it was a little 240!!

The 240 is basically the same engine as the 300 just different rotating assembly and the head has 68cc combustion chambers instead of the carbed 300's 76cc chambers. Because of the 240's shorter stroke it has a stronger crank. And with just some good rod bolts the 240 can easily handle 7,000 rpms!

Hello, i have a 223 inline 6 in a 56 f100. I am currently looking for a harmonic balancer for it, since mine is shot. I dont know if the 215 and 223 are similar but would you be interested in letting your harmonic balancer go if it were the same ?

I might have a whole 223 if you're interested. Good runner. I just got a sm 465 tranny for my cummins and am getting ready for the swap. Of course it depends where you are located...

I just rebuilt my 223. What year is the engine you are talking about. Just out of curiosity, does it run one or two belts. I am located in Louisiana.

Did you have any clearance issues I plan to eventually put one in my 55 f350 that I am getting next week. As of right now it has the 223, figured I would step it up a little and put a 300 in it?

In a 53-56 the only real clearance issue with a 300 6cyl is an engine driven cooling fan will hit the front frame crossmember under the radiator/core support. So to get around that requires an electric cooling fan. Unless you've got access to a high mount industrial 240/300 cooling fan set up. This set up actually has a fan mount on the thermostat housing. I have one of these fan set ups in my storage unit but am missing the water pump pulley.

Here's a picture of my 54 when I started to tear it down. It had a 300 swapped into it when I bought it.
