Tired of Ads posing as forum threads

I don't complain often, well, thats not entirely true I grump and moan all the time. What I mean to say is that I don't often complain about this site. In fact, I'm a paid member. I opted to be a paid member mainly to avoid the ads.
So, whats my beef? Its the sneaky, manipulative ads that show up at the top of the forum posing as legitimate threads. They are always posted by some false user with the name PostRelease. What a joke!

And just for the record, if, at any time I were ever considering buying Nitto tires I am not anymore. I would go out of my way to NOT buy Nitto tires soley due to the fact of their manipulative advertising. I would rather ruin my wheels driving without tires than buy Nitto tires.

Actually, you can, in a manner of speaking. Just hit the little red heart in the upper right hand corner. That adds reputation points to the poster, which is where the little green squares come from.

Yeah, I feel the same way and for the same reasons. I just renewed my membership in January, but if they don't kill those ads, it's the last go-round for me. I'll just mooch like so many others after it runs out. If I'm not going to get the benefit that I'm primarily paying for, then I just won't pay.

NITTO TIRES

Bobby,
Please follow my leed. Nitto tires might be good for bumpers on a tug boat, but I would never mount them on my truck. They are the ugliest, poorest piece of crap I have ever seen. They are so bad they have to try to sneak adds on some great forums. I guess the reason you can't reply to their posts is they don't want to "ADVERTISE" the poor quality that they sell. Any and all negitive comments will be appreciated.

Bob

And entering the PostRelease in your "Ignore List" doesn't block them. Stu

Why don't you guys just ignore those posts? They are always at the top and most of the time they are poorly disguised...

I looked at one when they first showed up but none since...

Mooching since April, 2002!

About as annoying as a "key in ignition buzzer". Only no way to disconnect.

Vern,
Yeah, for the most part I can skim over it and ignore it. But then I have grumpy days and the principal of it ticks me off.
If anyone else even hints at selling anything in a thread (remember Reamer's patch panels) or barely mentions they have an ad in the classified's they get shut down right away or the thread gets pulled....but, toss enough corporate dollars into the advertising pool and I guess the forum rules don't matter so much.

Allright, allright, I'll step off of my little soap box (for now)

Bobby

Nothing ever gets changed without complaints. What if all the vendors did the same thing? These should be in a vendors forum. Never see a good one advertising price markdown for FTE members. or special sales. I wouldn't buy Nitto due to these annoying ads alone.

Have any of you used the notification button to log a complaint?
The button with the exclamation point will send a notice to the admins and mods that there is a problem.
I for one have never seen the Nitto ad thread post.
Then again I don't frequent the thread you're posting about.

FTE has no control over those ads. They are from IB, the company that OWNS FTE! I don't like them any more than you guys do, but you don't have to click on them, just ignore them like the rest of us...............
