Truck report: 1500 miles/5 weeks

Truck is great, no issues at all. I love this truck. Just thought I'd start a new thread in this forum for others to report in as well.

Looking forward to upgrading the shocks in the spring!

I brought my truck home thursday and have almost 150 miles on it. So far it's awesome! This thing rides so nice compared to my sc sb diesel it's unbelievable. The dash is telling me 13.1mpg. We'll see if it's any more accurate than the one in my 6.4 was...so far 0 complaints.

If I remember correctly, weren't you the guy that had to wait a month to take delivery because if the family plan? That must have been brutal. Glad to hear she's treating you well so far!

yep, me too, if I had to absolutely find something to pick at, I would say that the instant fuel economy bar graph is the most useless feature I've ever seen. I mean really?, it tells me when i let off the fuel my mileage is better than when I 'm on the gas? but nothing specific? Apparently that was from the department of obvious...LOL! not a big deal I just select something else to look at.

Oh yeah, I could nitpick. Like for instance, the lonely sole gauge that is my transmission temp. in the "Gauge" screen. I mean, c'mon, I can read so many things on my Xoom and my phone (Galaxy Nexus) using the Torque app and a bluetooth OBD connector, so I know the data's there, they just choose not to display it. Weak...

/first world problems....lol.

10,000 mi. and loving it only issue door latch rattle on pass.rear door which dealer took care of.I have owned a 360,351m,351w,460,and a 5.4 gas motors and imho the 6.2 has them all beat when comparing them in stock form.Iknow only time will tell but i think ford hit a homerun with this engine!

Just rolled over the 5000 mile mark. And i still cant stop grinning everytime i drive it!!!!! Never been back to dealer for any issues! If i had to nit pick something, my box is off by a 1/2 inch side to side. The passanger side is a 1/2 inch lower than the drivers side and you can see the body lines from the cab to the box are off on the drivers side. Not a biggie i'll take it in to the dealer soon.

Actually the green bar does give a specific mpg reading. The left edge of the graph is numbered from 0 to 30 mpg . The graph bar will tell you how much under or over you are of your average. Its a useful reminder to coast up to lights and practicing easy accelerations. I like it.

You must have a fancier version than mine, because there are no numbers on mine. All mine has is an arrow pointing up on the right side and pointing down on the left side. And after two years of trying to get good mileage out of a 6.4(not happening), I don't need to be reminded to let off the fuel for better mileage.LOL!

Here is the screen we have, it's the 7" LCD in the middle of the dash.

I just love my truck too.
My wife just got a new Explorer and we have been driving that for the last 2 weeks instead of my truck. And let me tell you, I miss driving the truck. Today we took the truck just because I wanted to drive it more then 8 mile a day that I am used to going to and from work.

yep, the XL dash has a different screen in the middle of the gauges. It's similar to what was in my '08 but a little bigger.

Hey FG250,
We have similar optioned trucks with about the same amount of miles!

My gear slection light on the dash hasn't been showing when the trany goes from 5th to 4th. I can feel the trany shift and if I want to I can eliminate the 5th and 6th gears and there won't be any change in RPM's. Have you noticed this at all? Other than that sometimes I get minor engine braking while coming to a stop (while not in tow/haul mode).

Other than that I love my truck and wouldn't trade it for anything!
