No more P1211, for now!

I've been screwing around with this for over a year. D66 installed and 1211, ICP to high and uncontrollable popped up. I got several reburns from Tony and two reburns from beans. A few weeks ago I put in a T500 and even after I ordered it Joey said its probably the tunes and if I wanted he would refund my money, what a guy!!!!!!! I said no, I wanted to try the T500 HPOP. I told Jonathan at Beans to reburn it again and low and behold, WOW!! Pulled the camper to Temple, AZ (200 miles) and then today pulled it to Yuma (180 miles) against a head wind and it performed better then ever. I just set the cruise on 70 mph and let it go, its such a pleasure to see it perform the way you have been fighting and begging it to. Not that it hasn't worked great in the past but it seems like it just now all came together finally. I better go knock on some wood because I don't want to junks myself. The new tunes have lots of power and some smoke but not a whole lot of it and no check engine lights. The D66 turbo was spooling up like never before.

I just thought I would post this because it seems like all of us gets frustrated over getting one thing to work right only to another shi! on you. The majority of posts are over something going wrong and needing fixed. That's when wrenches fly and nasty things come out of our mouths!!

Glad to know I am not the only one. Rear left door was stuck closed. Pulled rear seat and panel and fixed it a couple of weeks ago. The other day it stuck shut as well as all my doors. They wouldn't even open with the key. I was getting ready to go through my vent when my gf decided to try my key. I was worried about breaking it in the lock but she obviously didn't know or care and she had the finesse to get right in. So, as of now I have got 1 inoperable lock, 2 windows that are non op. and just slow locks on the front, even with a new key. Lubed everything up good too.

That's why I like Supercabs. Only two doors to worry about and you can still potentially haul four people including the driver.

I fit 3 girls, and 2 dudes plus in my in my 84. Had two girls up front by me and one in the back with my buddies. I could fit 8 or 9 in my crew pickup if I had too. I fit 3 large dudes and myself in my 95 dodge single cab. Was tight but got er done.

Glad to hear you've got it running like you want it to, Glenn. You've got a serious towing monster on your hands there now.

Seems like two years Darin. Typed that last night before bed and I can see that I can't spell, lol. Its Tempe, az and I don't want to jinx myself! Oh well, we all learn to read between the lines here.

Ya, trying to get rid of that code I replaced a lot of things like CPS, ICP, IPR, HPOP and I'm sure there were other things I can't remember right now. I'm sure glad that code doesn't put the truck into limp mode or I would have been screwed many of times. I got to where I was resetting it on the fly with my scan gauge, LOL.

Also that's another point about doing two or more things and the problems goes away. Then you wonder which one it was that cured the problem. I'm sure it was tunes and not the HPOP but who knows. Joey knows more then I do by a long shot.

Question

Congrats Glenn. Do you know which were the changes or the different reburns that Beans made? I mean if you can know which ones you had and which ones you have now that make that diff?

Jose, most of my P1211's were with Tony's chip. The first one from Beans had alot of shifting problems and TC lock problems which they fixed on the second reburn. The only thing I know is that Joey said to have them turn up the duty cycle % to 65! I said that to Jonathen at Beans and now my duty cycle seems to be in the mid 40's when it was in the mid 30's pulling. The PW seems to be a little lower also.

Mike, that's good to know, all this probably was tuning but I'm happy with the T500. Sure feel good about you being happy with yours!

Thanks Pete, hope it stays that way!

Forgive me if I don't remember how all this went down, but did you have 2 different chips or just one chip that originally had TW tunes and had Beans reburn it? Asking b/c if you had another chip with TW tunes on it, you could toss it in and see if there is any difference. Either way, glad the truck is finally running the way you wanted it to.
