I just baught this truck, 4x4 reg cab. It has 99000 miles in excellent shape, xlt, one owner Wyoming and Co truck, grill guard, No goose neck hitch, I knew the owners and I felt real good about buying this. I was wondering if at 100,000 it needs anything in that 460. like a timing chain, or anything like that. I have no complaints with this truck at all but I want it to last and was just asking if there was any recomendations for an extended life of this unit.

Check for rusty rad support, pan, fuel tanks

 

Ive got a 92 460 with 266K mostly hwy miles - never been apart.

 

no rust. I went through all the fluids and buffed the paint new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, polished all the chrome, new fuel and air filter, vacumed and shampooed carpet doing whel bearings tomorrow and maybe ball joints if I can find ford or spicer.

 

1 ton 4x4 460 5 speed? in good shape that hasn't pulled a 5th wheel? you lucky lucky man...
