Compass and Thermometer are Dead

What would you call the display on the ceiling of my truck?
It shows my fuel millage, outside temperature and the direction i am travelling.
It has recently gone dead and i can't figure out why.
Which fuse does it run off of?
All my fuses under the dash are good.

Thanks

Any help would be apreciated.

Not a fuse, unfortunately. The connector to the display comes loose. The only permanent fix is to take it apart and resolder it. There's guides for it, here's one:

I have heard this connector problem in the past. Mine is a little different problem. The compass direction goes blank and sometimes gives the wrong direction and says "cal" under the little square. I have tried the calibration procedure in the manual but it goes right back to doing the same thing.

The above linked thread will address this problem also. The resistors work loose and need to be resoldered. You are just having the issue for the compass and not the temp.

Yes I am having trouble with the compass only. Everything else is working fine. I am wondering if there is some sort of magnetic compass somewhere else that feeds digital info to the over head compass readout.
