Not your momma's crewcab build

Got this beauty off craigslist this week. She's the newest addition to the project list, but gonna work on her slowly but surely. Have 2 projects to finish up until she gets the focus, but its a 76 360 4sp. 2wd. at some point it'll go through a 4wd conversion and im leaning toward 460 fuel injected; we'll see though. My dad and I have been looking for an affordable crew in decent shape, and this one popped up finally. The only semi major rust is on the top, and its around the edges, above the windshield, etc. Nothing major though. The cab is actually solid. The awesome bed is getting removed today. Who in the world would want a chevy stepside bed on a ford crew anyway?!

Well, here are a few pictures for your enjoyment. Join me for this ride, that will probably go pretty slow at points, but I hope will end up pretty dang sweet!

The bed should be used what it was originally designed for - a manure spreader.

I think I saw this on Craigslist a few weeks/months back. Did it come from north TN?

It was in Kodak/Sevierville. The ad I saw was from Wednesday, but it may have been on there before.

Is that a shortbed? If it is how did you find a replacement that fast?

Went to Pull-A-Part in knoxville. They had a decent one that was only rusted above the wheels. Bought it for 200 bucks. It's straight except for there, and the patch panels aren't too expensive.

Stepping in the right direction. Are you going to use a step side or fleetside bed on it? ...or whatever you can find?

It's gonna be a fleet side. Already found one, just has rust above the wheel wells. Prob put it on this weekend. Gonna get it in running condition before its torn apart. I think. That's the plan right now but you know that can always change!!
