Not your momma's crewcab build

Ya know that's a great question. We've tossed around a few ideas, and the only colors we've ruled out is black and red. My 79 is going to have a fresh coat of red on it soon and I don't really want them to match. Green, yellow, and orange have been discussed though.

The red truck is in rough rough shape body wise. It would take a lot more work than i need to take on.
Got the bed on the crew temporarily. I'm about to tear my 79 apart. Paint and some freshening up and it'll be done. then major work on the crew will begin.
This is the 79. My dad gave it to me when i turned 16. I love this truck, and i'd drive it across the country tomorrow (if i could afford to).
I'll start a new thread for it in a day or 2, but im getting the seat redone tomorrow. Taking the bed off and having it blasted this week, all that good stuff.

So the 4wd frame is done. Small issue that we didn't plan on: the bed and cab don't sit level. We accounted for 2 inches of difference that we accommodated with lift blocks but it actually looks like we ended up with 4 inches of difference. I'll post some pictures tomorrow and see what y'all think.
We built the frame from a f250 front and super cab f150 rear, that was also the donor of the bed. Thought we calculated correctly, but oh well. Y'all know how it goes. Looking forward to share progress with y'all tomorrow though!
Picked up a relatively inexpensive 429, got a trans and transfer case. It's starting to come together!
