I just acquired a COMPLETE BRAND NEW/NEVER USED Upper Intake from a 2000 Expedition. It is made out of a composite material. My 1999 Expedition has the aluminum intake. It looks like all the bolt holes would line up. Would this intake bolt right up or is it just good for all the parts (injectors,rails,egr, TB,TPS etc...). Thanks Guys!!!

 

Don't know if it will bolt up. But, can you think of any really good reason to move to plastic part? It could insulate the intake air charge from underhood heat (increasing the air density). This would be good. It could crack if torqued too tightly (unless it has metal inserts around the bolts). It might crack at the seams if it was made poorly (unlikely).

If you could install it with a minimum of hassle, I'd be tempted, but only after I had put at least 100K miles on all the other original parts.
