stuck throttle = sharted myself....
i was looking around under the hood and saw that my trans cable ( which clips on the throttle cable and 'piggybacks' it ) was disconnected--no WONDER the trans felt funky ! clipped it back on, took it for a drive and porked it away from a red light....and wound up with a 3/4 stuck throttle ! there was a micro second of "oh SHIRT", followed by me smacking the pedal with my foot a few times and it popped back up.( i was just about ready to try turning the key back 1 click and throwing it in neutral ) thank you LORD ! that coulda been very very VERY bad. ( i guess i didnt pop the clip on as well as i thought, it popped off and got wedged between the throttle arm and the pivot point ! ) she seems to be fine now, but 9700lbs accelerating uncontrollably will put some pinstripes on those seatcovers, let me tell yah !

I had that happen 3 weeks after i threw the alt belt, took that long for a mystery chunck of belt to find a home between the throttle arm and the ip gear housing, the pedal was stuck, and not coming back, so i just cycled the key to maintain a mph "range", at the light i shut it down, left it in neutral, when the light turned green, i strated it and dropped it in drive before it got above idle, had to do that through 2 lights like that before i could pull off in a parking lot and find out what was going on. Makes me wonder how clueless those toyota drivers were when their pedals stuck, i drove 2mi and 2 stop lights and still kept the truck under controll.

i think MOST people just sorta "panic" and have no clue what the heck they are doing.but then again, i think most people that have drivers licenses shouldnt, most people who have any kind of authority or power shouldnt, most people who are rewarded with huge opportunities shouldnt be,etc....sheesh, im only 40 and im already a grouchy old man!

I had the opposite happen to me before I replaced my throttle cable. The end going to the IP lever was broken where there are two cylindrical pieces of plastic that one rides in the other. Some times I could get the truck just off idle but if I smacked the pedal a few times, it would usually go again. I never really had any trouble with CC cable but some times it would pop off if I used CC but I think that is because I didn't push it all the way back down in the bracket. Haven't had a problem since replacing the old cable.
