(Newbie)

I have a '96 F 150 small V8. Latley the amber Check Engine light is on solid. There is exhaust noise on the right side of the cab, so I had the muffler replaced. I have also replaced the air filter. However, the noise is still there although it is much lower.

When I inspected the old muffler, it appeared that the internal packing was degenerating. There were several small holes in the exhaust pipe that were welded closed.

I do not have a owners manual. I bought the truck in'99, it had 45K miles. It now has 65K miles.
