Mud in the engine prevention

I want to drive my truck around some in some mud. After all, who doesnt? I'n not talking about anything crazy, or mud bogging, but just flying down some muddy dirt roads, or driving it down the power line trails. All flat land, just muddy and wet.

I helped a friend change a radiator last week, and he has been mudding 3 or 4 times in his truck. When we took the radiator out, we could see mud in the fan housing, not to mention on the rest of the motor. Im guessing it came from underneath.

I saw this and got a little concerned, because i doubt mud and car engines mix very well. My question is how can i prevent mud from getting in my engine and messing things up?

I'm don't let it get in your air intake?? This is the only way it could get in if your engine is good n tight also make sure it has a good clean filter paper will suffic

are you talking about internally inside the engine or just in the engine compartment? for the stuff you are talking about you shouldn't need to do anything for the air intake, you shouldn't be in anything deep enough to suck in water or mud. If you are talking about keeping the engine compartment clean, you can make flaps to help keep mud and water from splashing up onto the engine.

If you don't want mud in the engine compartment, don't go mudding. That's about all there is to it. If you go mudding, you are going to have a mess to clean up.....period.

if your talking about the splashing from underneath then try putting a skid plate. i dont worry about the mud under mine but i had issues hitting snow drifts and my engine compartment filling with snow and throwing my belt. so i installed a skidplate
