Question Older DWR short box years

Hopefully someone can help me out here. I am a member of another forum and there seems to be a question on the years that Ford manufactured F350 short box duallys. I have someone telling me that they only made them in limited production between 2005-08. They have never seen one older than that.

Well that seems kind of strange to me as I have a 2000 F350 crewcab short box dually sitting in my driveway as I'm writing this. I've looked on the web to find out production years and can't find anything.

Can anyone out there direct me to a website that shows the years the short box duallys were produced?

Thanks.

Hey thanks.

Don't have a pic to post but here is a link to a pic from another members gallery, 2000 Ford F350 4x4 - F350.
My truck looks exactly the same as his with the same paint scheme and body/bed the only difference is mine is a 7.3 turbo diesel.

I bought it used and I was sure that it came from the factory as a short box dually, but have this guy who is insisting that Ford never made them prior to 05. And since I can't find anything on the web for production years of the DWR short boxes, he now he has me second guessing myself.

Yes it is factory, the DRW Short Box was always available on the SD, but they are pretty rare. From what I have read, it was discontinued after 2010 though.

What you actually have there is a F-350 Lariat Limited Edition.

FoMoCo did not offer an F350 DRW Styleside pickup until 1980. The rear fenders are fibreglas, bolt to the quarter panels (bed sides).

1953/79 F350's w/DRW's were either sold as a Cab & Chassis, or with a factory installed flat or stake bed.

FoMoCo did not offer a DRW Flareside pickup.

We aren't talking about Flareside. We are talking about 99+ Super Duty DRW with the 6 3/4 foot bed rather than the 8 foot bed.

Tell that to the OP, because the title of this thread is: Older DWR short box years. Yes, this is the Super Duty forum, but the thread title doesn't specify such, specifies "older."

I assumed that the OP meant DRW in lieu of DWR, which makes no sense. There were no Flareside DRW pickups. The thing is: How many peeps on FTE do you think know that?

Oops! Sorry, I probably should have titled it "Production years of DRW short box". Never have been real good at this forum thing. Need to proof read better.

I knew I had a 2000 shorty DRW but this other guy has been so adamant that they didn't come from the factory as a dually. It's good to know that I'm not totally full of $#%&

Thanks for the replys.

"Older" means the earliest of the SuperDuty's since its int he SuperDuty section. Especially since he referenced 05-08 as being the years in question, and he asked directly about the years prior to that.

If he was talking about Pre-SuperDuty trucks, he would have posted in the appropriate section or a mod would have moved it there.
