Cab Chassis fuel tank Question

I was wondering if anyone had tried installing one on a CC short bed. I can get my hands on one for $80, and was wondering if anyone had an idea of how hard it would be to install. Or if it would even fit. Dimensions would be nice.. I am thinking of using it for a veggie oil conversion, and this would help me keep it cheap, and out of sight. Not a fan of the in the bed fuel tanks.

Any help would be appreciated.

Those tanks are known to have d-lamination issues especially with biodiesel. I would not recommend using that tank even if it did fit. I sell replacements for those tanks all the time.

Well, I never heard of that... I know of several X tanks in B100 and WVO service.

Here's some pics someone recently posted of what you wanna do:

Fwiw, the Cab Chassis tank is 38ish gals and the X tank is 44gals. The Cab Chassis tanks are STEEL and the X tanks are 'plastic'. I can tell you from personal experience the steel tanks' factory coating WILL FAIL in B100 service - and will likely fail in WVO service as well. I strongly recommend using the 'plastic' tank if you are considering WVO.

KEEP US POSTED!! (and PM me if ya want an expedited education about VO conversions in 7.3's )

Yep, plastic tanks have no issues. I can't remember ever selling one for a pickup.
