fuel injector o-rings

fuel injector o-rings
I wanted to replace the top and bottom fuel injector o-rings on my 2001 F150 4.2L.
The Ford dealership parts guy sold me a bag of 10, black, o-rings and said I probably wouldn't have to replace all 12 of them. When I got home I noticed the top o-rings are blue and the bottom o-rings are two tone grey and black. Now, back at the dealership the guy says I have to buy new injectors to get the right o-rings.
Does this sound right?

No it does not, injector orings can most certainly be bought independent of injectors. I do not see them being different colors as an issue. Ford often color codes them to make sure they they get installed correctly from the factory. This is not a confirmation that they are different, It might make it easier for workers or computers to spot problems. So long as the o rings are made from the right materials and can withstand exposure to normal engine temperatures, gasoline, and ethanol, they will work just fine regardless of color.
