wow, expensive. I know there used to be rebuilt kits avaliable. Anyone know what happened to those?
My buddy is looking at replacing or rebuilding both his alternators as they almost left us stranded in Montanan with only 8.5v left on the batteries.
And I say both his alternators because he has the ambulance package on his truck.

IIRC, you cant put higher amp alts into a truck with the ambulance package. The regulation between the two is pretty crappy and I believe they'll end up fighting each other and dying prematurely. Better to do one big one, or put some kind of better isolator or regulator in so they aren't fighting each other.

Thanks for the input guys. We'll definitely see what we can find out and post up what our/his decision is.
I don't understand why they would fight each other. Can you explain. I mean I understand electronics pretty well but they are just generators.
