Question 2006 F250 no 16pin conector

I am looking to upgrade my radio to an oem nav unit from an 07+ superduty because i would like to have an aux port. I have searched this forums on guys installing their AUX adapters and noticed something different.

I have a 2006 F250 King Ranch, with factory 6cd changer, i took out the radio and noticed that i only have a 24pin connector on my harness connected to the radio and NO 16pin connector from the truck but there IS a spot for the 16pin connector on the radio. Even looked all under the dash for the 16pin harness and found nothing. My steering wheel controls work fine. All the pictures i've seen of other superdutys have both the 24 and 16 pin connectors from the harness and the radio plugged in.

What exactly does the 16pin connector do? I bought this truck from the dealer and now wondering if that radio was the true original one or not. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The 16-pin connector is for Can-Bus data transmission. It's not uncommon for F150s and F250s from those years to not come with a 16 Pin plug. You can still add a NAV with an aux port, but you will need to make sure the NAV is both capable and programmed to accept 12v+ turn on. Newer Ford radios do not have accessory power supplied to them, but rather use a Can-bus data signal to turn on the radio.
