worth is is a tough one, depends on how abused or not abused the lantern is and rarity. ebay prices are quite inflated, and people at yardsales or craigslist use ebay prices.

not much by way of Coleman lanterns on the Los Angeles Craigslist.

have been drifting around eBay to see if there is anything good, sure like to add a 202 to the shelf but the 95 to 195 dollar range is kinda steep.

sure cannot beat walmarts price on Coleman camp fuel... 10 bucks a gallon... cheaper than the local chain sports stores.

that was the best 10 dollars i spent!!!

the aluminum funnel is fun and old school, the new fangled auto stop funnel is a little less wasteful but the fuel filter adapter by FAR smokes them all.

insert into fount push down (kinda like the new CARB gas cans, but not as crappy) it will gurgle along and when the gurgling stops the fount is full to what Coleman deems full. no mess no fuss... i was impressed.

the 220F im fixin up for a buddys son i will include one also along with a funnel. its handy.

went to a craft store tonight and found a 6oz. plastic squeeze bottle and over to osh to get some 1/8" brass tube and some silicone to make me a pre heater cup filler, for my kerosene lantern. most use some form of alcohol to fill the cup, since i have a quart of denatured alcohol i am going to be using that.

got lucky and was able to bend the tubing with out kinking it, using my stream light stinger flashlight as a form. i may make another one and use a metal screw top can like your PVC glues come in, the very old originals are like that and i do have the tools to silver solder the brass to steel. i most likley dont have the very best ability to join them with out melting something lol.

came out nice just waiting for the silicone to dry.

best picture i have tonight, until i can find my camera tomorrow.... maybe get a picture of it in use.

That'll do the job just fine!

Looks good, too!

Now, ask people if they know what it's used for.

Post back their answers.

I believe that photo would be the only way to explain alcohol introduction to a kero-fired Coleman's cup to anyone who was not familiar with kero-Colemans.

Sean, what are the Coleman equivalents of those two (presumably) Sears units?

the left one looks to be a 228 frame, vent and burner with a sears spec collar and color on top of a Coleman 275 like fount.

the one on the right looks like a 228F vent with a few changes to adapt it to what looks to mostly resemble a Coleman 275 lantern.

just my pure wild guess!

Not yet Pop!

Good eye Justin, I should know better than to swap photos with this crowd.

I'm slowly working through the various Sears models, but can't yet afford those red ones.

Early 70s model pictured here doesn't have a coleman equivalent, the 275 is closest, but has a diff frame. Sears in the 60's had a black vent, blue or red font and were just like a 220E or F, different collar.
