I have seen my oil temps up to 260* before the mod and now 220* is about tops. Joey thought it was a great idea. Of course, I also should get rid of my 203* thermostat, sorta contradictory! LOL

I modded mine to accept a super duty radiator and Flex-a-lite electric fans for the SD. Does that count as custom? Only know of 1 or 2 other OBSs out there using these fans. LOL

Pretty cool Travis, have you done the write up yet? That might be a mod that I'll consider doing. I would love to do some comparison testing over some mountain grade. But, we all can't snap our fingers and have that! LOL

Nah, I haven't done the write up yet. I want to test the heck out of them in the warmer weather with this 195* t-stat and then again with the 180* t-stat before I do the write up. That way I know it works and won't have any problems in the heat before I start telling people how to do it or that they even should waste their time on it. Would hate to tell everyone how awesome it works only for summer to roll around and it doesn't work when it's 110* outside. LOL

Ha, I head north before that 110* stuff. I've never had a problem with the coolant getting warm, just the oil. You would think that it would go hand and hand. Just my gut feeling that your system would be better then that big chunk of metal flying around. Before I go in April on our trip I have a new oil cooler (stock) to be in. Who knows, maybe mine is blocked and that is why my oil temps have gotten up there.

I can tell you when I dropped to the 195* t-stat and the fans, the coolant temp stays lower and oil temps have dropped with them. When I drop to the 180* t-stat, I'll let you know what the oil temps do, but oil temp should drop even farther with the 180* stat.

It's not very noticable. There was a slight difference during light throttle situations. It's a little quicker to rev.. At full throttle it doesn't seem any different really.

Took about 10-12 hours, but I was having to figure out what to mod, how to mod it, etc, etc. I didn't even know if the SD radiator would fit in there, but I eventually figured out a way to get it in there. If I was to do it again, I could probably get it done in 6-8 hours. It's not too difficult. Nothing a grinder, a drill, holesaw, and a welder can't take care of.
