Bypassing rear ABS,pros/cons?

I am in the middle of a brake fiasco (rebuild)and after reading around here saw some articles on this RABS valve bypassing,my question is will a abs code /light come on forever screwing with anything in PCM?Like would cc be inactive? Is it as easy as taking it out and plumbing in a new line and game over? I dont want to open another can of endless worms here. I have had trucks my whole life and rear abs in none of them and I survived just fine, seems like one more PITA to deal with. I have no prob pulling abs light in dash and feeding to the birds as long as PCM is happy!!
