No Start

Fordie's
i got stuck with it 3 or 4 times but
it would start eventually
now it won't start at all
it fires once then nothing each time i
turn key.
what's wrong with it?
it's '99 4.6 2 valve

Can you hear the fuel pump running ? If not Thats what I would suspect is the problem...

i've tried leaving key on and running back there and listening.
results haven't been real good.

i am going to just shotgun it.
spray in starter fluid and
see if it runs.
if it does i'll change filter then pump.

Is the anti theft light flashing on the dash? with the key on

do you have enough gas? Silly I know.

agreed with changing the fuel filter 1st....then test fuel pressure, with key on, should be somewhere near 30-35psi . if you're not getting that PSI, then check relays and fuses for the fuel pump...if that all is good and still don't hear a slight whine/buzz as you turn the key to the on position, not all the way to start (it'll just be on 2-5sec).

then go after the fuel pump....BTW its in the tank

Might just need the IAC valve & MAF sensor cleaned, then look for vacuum leaks...but this is best done after it is running.
