Not everyone wants to hack up their truck

What! I thought everyone was as crazy as me. Come on NumberDummy what's the fun in fixing it and keeping it the same.... hack it up and make a jigsaw puzzle out of it and then try to remember what part of this truck you were going to use and what part of that truck goes......and so on...(ask me how I know...lol) But then again an all stock truck don't sound to bad right now . So I guess I'm just talking out my a$$ .....

Ok shameless plug for my build....https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-a-2002-a.html

Now do what you want to the truck and have fun with it, enjoy the time with your son, drive the heck out of the ol truck and make some new memories with a cool old truck that your son will remember forever.

Talking

I'm referring to any earlier column shift design that works and ages better than the 67-72 design...a chimp must have designed it and the turn signal mess. Gotta go now and cut up my 69 F250...

I didn't think Rangoon Red was that dark. Blank color code = custom color...that works. So, for who (gov. fleet vehicles?) or how was a custom color ordered back then? Did it come that way from the factory or dealer installed?

If a Warranty Plate has a blank space where a code would normally be, it is factory related, because that's where the Warranty Plate is stamped, then riveted to the door face. So, it's not dealer installed.

COLOR code blank: The vehicle is painted a non standard color per the original purchasers request, the vehicle then has a 6 digit DSO, denoting a Domestic Special Order.

Most commonly seen on "fleet" vehicles sold to, for examples: US Gov't, Coca-Cola, Utility Co's, Construction Co's, etc.

But amyone could request a non standard color, you, me the fellow down the street, the fat lady in the circus.

If a vehicle is painted a non standard color, there is no reference for the paint formula. If paint is required, the dealer contacts FoMoCo, passes along the 6 digit DSO.

FoMoCo looks up the order number, then passes along the paint formula to the dealer.

I would be more than happy to but the truck is in Virginia and i am awaiting the weather to break in order to have it transported to Chicago.
Sorry about that!

"Hacked"? "Hacked"? (You have to say that like Arthur did "****" in the original movie) What fun would the world be with all stock vehicles? No racing, no wild customs like the Batmobile. A world full of sheeple taking what Detroit decided they wanted. If FoPar can do it so can I! A shameless plug for my truck Lookie Me!
