FAQ - 1980-86 Ford Paint Chips - (not 56k friendly)
Due to my frustration trying to track down an interior color, with the help of 81-F-150-Explorer I stumbled upon a website with PPG paint code listings and and chips. The website is a pain in the neck to use, so I organized all the chip information to my p-bucket for easy access.

If you look at the Light Chamois interior color on page 3 of the 1980 section. That matches your truck pretty close. Well some of it.
I would not trust those color chips though. Some of the greens that I know to be green, look blue to my monitor as example. I'd still go to the paint store and look at the actual chips. Some of the paints are metalic, and metalic chips do not scan very well, hence the possible color differences I'm seeing.
Thanks for sharing this though. It will no doubt help others in the future.

Thanks for this paint chip post- I was able to find the original colors of my new old truck. The sticker inside the door says exterior colors 1G, 2K. Seems I have a Silver Poly and Candyapple Red. Not far from the gray primer and faded red it is now ...
Any way to tell what the original interior colors would be? A sticker somewhere that gave the numbers? Is there a standard color combination that would have come with the particular exterior colors? Right now it's a faded 3 shades of red and yes the primer.
