2wd to 4wd standard transmission
Hey guys the truck Is coming along very nicely, I'm considering putting a standard transmission in it. gonads a friend with an early 70s f250 with 429 and a manual 2wd transmission in it. I don't know much about how a 2wd drivetrain is but I was wondering if it would be as easy as swapping the t case over to a 4wd one to convert it? Any info or advice on this would be much appreciated.

In all honestly, you'll be better off finding a 4wd manual trans from a different 73-79 pickup. the 2wd trans (if it's an np435) will have a square bolt pattern on the tail shaft housing and the tail shaft won't be near long enough to hook up to a t-case. The NP435 4wd trans has an trapezoid bolt pattern on the intermediate housing and a longer tailshaft. If the trans is a Borg and Warner T18, then you may or may not have an extended tail housing on it, but I'm still pretty sure it'll have the square bolt pattern, which won't work with the NP203 or 205 t-cases.
